A few years ago I was called by a husband who wanted me to make his his special.  The couple had purchased a new house with nice new neutral paint thoughout.  He saw the work I'd done in homes that made that home unique and reflected the homeowners personality.  I met with his wife and decided what would enhance the architechure in their house. 

The best part about this job was the painting was an Anniverisary gift from the husband.  I loved doing that for them.  What better gift than to make a home more special for them, something they both could enjoy. 

My husband & I purchased penant lights over the island instead of roses one Valentine's Day.  I'm so glad we did, I still enjoy them, the roses wouldn't have lasted the week.

Of course doing a whole room would be fabulous, but if money is tight for you this year consider doing an accent wall.  You can transform a room with an accent wall (look at the big red wall - speciality finishes) or ornamental painting.   Don't over look small areas - art niche, powder baths, and entries can be done quite quickly and affordably.
